Whitey’s temporarily closing East Moline location due to COVID-19; UPDATE: Rock Island location also closing

UPDATE: Whitey’s Ice Cream also learned an employee at the Rock Island store tested positive for COVID-19.

The employee did not contract the virus at work nor do they have symptoms.

Once again as a precaution, the Rock Island location is closing for cleaning and to allow the other employees to get tested.

EARLIER UPDATE: Whitey’s Ice Cream announced on their Facebook page that they were temporarily closing their East Moline location out of caution after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

The location will be closed in order to clean and allow employees to get tested.

The post also stated that the employee has not worked in the store since before the weekend and no other employees have shown any symptoms.
