A man was hit by a passing semi after exiting a vehicle on I-80 Thursday afternoon.
Davenport Police responded to eastbound I-80 at mile marker 294 around 12:15 p.m. for an accident involving a pedestrian.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 60-year-old man from Davenport exited a vehicle that was parked on the south side of the roadway and was struck by a passing semi-truck.
The man was transported to Genesis Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
No other vehicles were involved and I-80 is open to normal traffic. The Davenport Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the incident. No further information is available at this time.
