Man in custody after armed standoff in Wheatland

     A man is in custody after police say he barricaded himself in a repair shop with a gun. That happened Friday afternoon around 2:40 p.m. in Wheatland, Iowa.

    Clinton County Sheriff’s deputies went to a complaint of domestic abuse assault on Washington St. While deputies were there they say a man barricaded himself inside a repair shop on Main St. Deputies closed Main St. in Wheatland and began negotiations.
    The suspect was taken into protective custody and taken to a local hospital.
