A man killed in an early morning house fire Monday has been identified.
Henry County Coroner Melissa Watkins told Local 4 News that William Nightingale, 58, lived at the Kewanee residence.
The cause of his death is pending toxicology results.
Crews are searching for answers tonight after an early morning house fire in Kewanee, Illinois that killed a 58-year-old man.
The city's fire chief said a person passing by the home near the intersection of Wilber and Lake streets called emergency crews around 1:30 a.m.
He said crews found large flames that had spread to the second floor and a man inside -- who was pronounced dead on the scene.
Investigators are still trying to figure out how it started.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
