A Miracle Field is an all-inclusive ball field that gives children of all abilities the opportunity to play sports such as baseball.
The design of a Miracle Field uses special rubberized surfacing and fully accessible dugouts.
All elements, including the bases, home plate and pitching mounds are painted in the surface to remove any raised area.
It all allows full access for all children and players, regardless of abilities.
Traditional baseball fields have obstacles that are difficult for people with mobility devices such as wheelchairs and walkers.
Mayors across the Quad Cities are coming together to bring a Miracle Field to the area.
There’s a Davenport City Night at the QC River Bandits game on June 2nd at Modern Woodmen Park.
That game starts at 6:35 p.m. against the Kane County Cougars.
There will be more information there about how you can donate and a video showing what the miracle field will be.
