Moline mayor Stephanie Acri was involved in a serious car crash Monday on 7th Street near Hamilton Elementary School in Moline and had to be extricated from her vehicle.
Local 4 News spoke this afternoon with Acri from the hospital. She was transported by ambulance and is currently in intensive care.
Acri declined to go into details about the nature of her injuries, but she wanted to express her gratitude to Moline police and fire first responders, whom she said did a great job in caring for her.
She also wanted to express her thanks to the many Quad-Citians who have reached out and offered their well wishes to her. She hopes to be released from the hospital tomorrow.
