A Muscatine woman is doing her part to make sure kids have presents on Christmas morning.
Viola Werner spent the year raising money to buy 71 new bicycles. She’s giving all of them to the Salvation Army.
Muscatine County deputies helped deliver and unload the bikes tonight.
This is the twelfth year Werner made this kind of donation.
“The sad part is I don’t get to see the kids get the bikes, but [it’s nice] just knowing that 71 little kids are going to have a bicycles for Christmas that wouldn’t have one,” Werner said.
Werner did it all herself when she first started the bike donation. She’s now happy to have a team of helpers.
