Bettendorf High School will have a new principal starting next fall.
Joy Kelly has been appointed to the position beginning with the 2017-2018 school year. Kelly has been serving as the interim high school principal this school year. She was hired by the district in July 2003 as an associate principal at Bettendorf High School.
“We are excited to have Ms. Kelly accept the position as high school principal,” said Mike Raso, Superintendent. “She is a passionate leader with great experience working with high school students, families and staff. She cares deeply about meeting the needs of our students and helping to prepare them for their futures. She will work with the high school staff to continue to improve opportunities for our students and their success.”
Kelly was named the 2014-2015 Assistant Principal of the Year by the School Administrators of Iowa (SAI). She has a Bachelor of Art degree in American History from the University of Iowa, a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Northern Iowa, and a Specialist in Educational Leadership (Ed.S) from the University of Iowa.
