New texting and driving law in Iowa

News

Starting Satuday Iowans can be pulled over for texting and driving.

The total fine for texting and driving is around $100.

The law also says drivers cannot browse the web or play electronic games.

Some Iowans believe the new law will be very beneficial and help keep people save on the road.

“Hopefully it’ll make people think twice before they go out there texting and driving, I mean when they’re going on a 10 minute trip, I mean something like that can just wait until you get to where you’re going, so I think it’s definitely a good law that will hopefully save some lives,” said Supporter Jordan Henry.

In addition to texting, going on social media on your phone is also not allowed when you drive. The only things that are, are making phone calls and using GPS.
