NWS severe weather spotter training class in Davenport

As mentioned in tonight’s Local 4 special presentation, Shelter from the Storm, the National Weather Service is offering a severe weather spotter training course in Davenport.  The class is April 4th at the Davenport Public Library, Eastern Avenue Branch.

The course is scheduled from 6-7:45 p.m.

When: Wed, April 4, 6:00pm – 7:45pm

Where: Davenport Public Library – Eastern Avenue Branch – 6000 Eastern Avenue, Davenport, IA 52807 (map)

Description: Pre-registration is NOT required. When you arrive, there will be a sign-in sheet at the class. This class will last about 2 hours, is free, and open to the public. More Information: Spotter training classes cover severe weather hazards including thunderstorms and tornadoes. This includes the general structure and movement of severe thunderstorms, identification of important storm features, and safety concerns.
