DAVENPORT, Iowa — A new type of sports facility is now available in Davenport and it doesn’t involve turfs or weight equipment.

Paradigm is the first dedicated esports venue in the Quad Cities.

The facility combines esports, virtual reality and free-roam virtual reality for gamers.

But they hope to expand it to educators, firefighters, law enforcement and companies for training simulation opportunities.

This esports arena will become the home of many tournaments, especially high school teams and St. Ambrose University. The owner says the gaming center is not just for the dedicated gamers, he says it’s open to everyone even if they’re a beginner. Gamers can test out virtual reality headsets, computers and compete with other players.

Local Four’s Andrea Medina checked out the one-of-a-kind facility.

Paradigm is open Monday through Saturday from 4 P.M.-12 A.M. and Sundays from 1-8 P.M.
