One person airlifted after two vehicle crash; driver charged with OWI

Early Sunday morning around 2:00 Davenport Police responded to a car crash at the intersection of Brady and Locust Streets. An on duty Davenport Police Officer witnessed the crash.

Davenport Police tell Local 4 News an investigation revealed a car going east on Locust Street ran the red light at the intersection with Brady street and struck an SUV that was heading north on Brady Street.

Police say the two occupants of the SUV sustained serious injuries and one had to be airlifted to Iowa City.

The driver of the car that ran the light was identified as Michael Coleman, 33, of Davenport. He is being charged with an OWI second offense, three counts of running a red light, reckless driving, and two counts of serious injury by accident.

The names of the injured victims are not being released at this time.
