Someone reported a possible sighting of University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts. She’s been missing for three weeks now.
Mollie was last seen in Brooklyn, Iowa. But this morning — a woman thought she saw Mollie in Marion — a town about an hour away from there.
She drove to the local Casey’s when she saw a young woman in her 20s that fit Mollie’s description in a blue car with a man.
“I thought this could be her and she would be able to reunite with her family. It was just a normal day for me and I thought I saw Mollie. I saw a girl around her age in black running shorts, running shoes and a running shirt, her hair was up in a pony tail and it looked exactly like her. I drove up next to the car and I sat there for a second and I pounded on my windows because I had kids in my car and i didn’t want to make a big production of it and she just kind of looked up at me and the car just immediately left.”
In that moment her heart skipped and she called police. However, police confirmed that sighting was not Mollie.
“The cops said they took every lead and they went down there, they called me when they reviewed surveillance tapes and they said they had to do a double take as well.”
