An Iowa native is now running as a Republican candidate for Iowa House District 93.

Mike Vondran made his campaign announcement Tuesday morning.
“I believe that hard work pays off and life is what you make it. I am dedicated to focusing on creating a vibrant future for all Iowans,” Vondran said. “I will listen to the district, prioritize decisions and work hard to lead Iowa forward. I believe Iowa must have a competitive business environment that will grow, retain and attract quality businesses to our state. As a business owner, I know the key to a successful budget is to spend less than you take in and I want to ensure the State is accountable to Iowans. A healthy future for Iowa starts with our youth. I want to return Iowa to the top state in the nation in terms of education. My vision is for Iowa to be the best place for all to learn, earn and grow.”
He raised his family and started a business in Davenport.
He says he’s dedicated to “creating a vibrant future for all Iowans.”
Vondran plans to focus on bringing and improving business as well as education.
The seat is currently held by Democrat Phyllis Thede.
