President Trump coming to Iowa today

President Trump will be in Iowa on tonight to host a campaign rally, in his first visit to the Hawkeye State since taking office.

He’ll be hosting the rally, as well as touring Kirkwood Community College with two of his cabinet secretaries, Ag. Sec. Sonny Perdue and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross.

Iowa campaign spokesperson Tana Goertz said this is not a part of Trump’s “Thank You” tour like he did a few months ago.

“It’s just a rally to acknowledge Iowans,” said Goertz. “To thank for them for voting for him, for putting him in White House, and just to let them know…that he is delivering on his campaign promises. Create jobs, he is. Stimulate the economy, he is. And all the other things he said he was going to do, he is doing.”

Gov. Kim Reynolds is attending the event as well. She said she’s proud of the president’s work so far.

“I will thank him for his cabinet really being accessible and approachable,” said Reynolds. “Looking for opportunities to provide flexibility for states as we can continue to look for ways to grow the economy, address health care and safety issues that each one of the states are dealing with.”
