QC airport gets $2,214,738 grant

The Quad City International Airport received $2,214,738 in grant funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The funds will be used to reconstruct lighting systems on both Runway 13/31 as well as six taxiways to enhance safe airfield operations during low visibility conditions.

Earlier this month, funding was announced to expand the service road at the Quad City International Airport.

“These continued investments in the Quad City International Airport are fundamental to supporting our local economy. By making these investments in our airport, we’re ensuring a brighter economic future for our regional economy,” said Congresswoman Cheri Bustos, who announced the grant with Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth. “Senators Durbin and Duckworth have been tremendous partners and I thank them for their ongoing efforts to make the Quad-Cities a great place to live, work and raise a family.”
