QC Balloon Festival is back

News

The Quad Cities Balloon Festival kicks off today.

Local 4 News is a sponsor of the event.

There will be bounce houses and face painting for kids, a live band and a beer garden — along with 15 hot air balloons you can either watch or take a tethered ride in.

They’re raising money for the Quad Cities Animal Welfare Center.

The balloon meister tells us there will be lots to see and do there.

“It’s going to be a real fun time,” said Darrell Day, Balloon Meister of Quad Cities Balloon Fest. “There’s even a car if you really want to.. that’s there to raise money… that you can put a sledge hammer to it. And do some real damage to it.”

The fairground gates open at 4 p.m.

Parking and admission are both free.
