The Quad Cities are one step closer to having a passenger train to Chicago. Officials at MetroLINK said Friday that an unofficial agreement has been reached between the Illinois DOT and Iowa Interstate Rail.
There’s 53 miles of track that needs to be reworked to accommodate passenger traffic between the two cities.
Construction on the Multi Modal Station in downtown Moline is still on track to be done this September.
