A consequence from the warm weather is hitting the Rock River.

The water level is rising from the melting ice, which prompted a flood warning.

Local 4 meteorologists say that’s happening upstream.

It’s currently a foot above flood stage near Joslin. In Moline, it’s a minor flood at this time.

Melting snow can also increase the risk of ice jams breaking up on the water.
