A Scott County Sheriff’s Department vehicle was damaged and had to be towed after a woman backed into it while trying to escape in Davenport on Wednesday.

The damaged squad was parked at 13th and Washington and was later towed.

Scott County deputies responded to the 1400 block of West 13th Street in Davenport around 9:50 a.m. for a civil committal. Upon entry to the residence a woman identified as Elizabeth Damon was assaulting her mother and exited the rear of the residence, according to the sheriff’s department.

She was located a few minutes later in the 1300 block of West 13th Street. As deputies approached, she entered into a Dodge Caravan and intentionally backed into a marked squad and then onto the sidewalk in the direction of a uniformed deputy. Damon left the area and was located soon later. At 11:20 a.m., deputies located Damon as she returned to her residence. She ran again, but was taken into custody without incident.

She was transported to the Scott County Jail and charged with assault on an officer, second degree criminal mischief, domestic assault and numerous traffic violations.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Davenport Police Department and SECC.
