A Dallas County Sheriff’s deputy was hit by a vehicle while working on a traffic accident Monday. The driver tried to slip between a fire truck arriving at the scene and squad cars on the side of the road.

According to the sheriff’s office, the deputy “has some apparent minor injuries, but as you can tell from this video, it could have been a whole lot worse.”

Dallas County is west of Des Moines, but bad weather is headed our way, so slow down and pull over when you see emergency vehicles.
