The dry, sunny weather of Saturday will be short-lived. More snow is on the way for the second half of this weekend.
A Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect tonight and will last through most of Sunday. This advisory covers essentially all of the Quad-City Area.
Here’s the latest on what to expect.
TIMING: Light to moderate snow will spread across the QCA from the west tonight. Southeast Iowa will see snow late this evening. Flakes should start to fall in the QC metro after midnight. This will continue all the way through Sunday into Sunday night. AMOUNTS: The farther west you are, the more snow you’ll see. Central Iowa will see the most out of this system. The metro Quad Cities will likely be on the lower end of the 3-5″ range.
HAZARDS: The good news is all of the precipitation this time should be snow, no ice or wintry mix. The snow will also accumulate slowly and winds will be under 20 mph, so some minor blowing and drifting will be the only issues, plus the usual slick spots.
