Spring break doesn’t mean a break for your brain at the Rock Island Library.
Here are some of the events coming up this month:
- Sat. March 7, with the Bluestem Book Club at 1 p.m., and STEAM-AZING at 2 p.m. The book club is discussing books from the Illinois BlueStem Book Awards list for kids in Grades 3-5. STEAM-azing offers hands-on engineering projects. Both events are for school age children.
- Lego Build Days are Mondays, March 11 and 18, 9-12 p.m. in the Children’s Room of the Downtown Library. Lego brick art madness!
- Southwest Craft Night is Tues., March 12, 6 p.m. at the Southwest Library branch. Sign up and create a bouquet of cut-paper flowers. Spring has got to arrive someday!
- Animal Art with the Figge, Wed., March 13, 4 p.m. at the Downtown Library. Sign up for an Art and Artists lesson from a Figge art educator, based on their new spring exhibit, Animals at the Museum. School ages, grades K-6 and teenagers.
Just a reminder that while the kids are out of school, you can check out a culture pass for free from the library, and explore exhibits and nature at The Putnam, Figge, German-American Heritage Center, and the Quad City Botanical Center. That library card comes in handy for all sorts of reasons.
