A local developer has plans to put a drive-thru Starbucks on one of the busiest corners of the Quad-Cities in the parking lot of Unity Point’s Moline campus.

Moline’s Committee of the Whole last night approved a zoning change needed for developer Dan Dolan to purchase land now owned by Unity Point at the corner of John Deere Road and 7th Street.

The space now hosts farmers markets on the weekends.

Moline Land Development Manager Shawn Christ tells Local 4 News and Fox 18 News that engineers are in the process of doing a traffic study at the intersection.

The plan goes before the full council November 7. If approved, construction could begin in the spring.
