UPDATE 10:00 p.m. — A third Fulton County jail escapee has been taken into custody Thursday.
According to a post by The Fulton County ESDA, 26-year-old Cody Villalobos was captured in the Western Peoria County Area.
Area law enforcement continues to search for the last escapee, Zachary Hart. A reward is being offered by Fulton County Crime Stoppers for information leading to his arrest.
Anyone with information on Hart is encouraged to call 911.
UPDATE 8:30 p.m. — Law enforcement has completed searching the area around Farmington for the two missing prisoners Thursday.
According to a Facebook post by Fulton County ESDA, law enforcement has completed its ground and air search and believes the two remaining missing prisoners have left the area.
The Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, Farmington Police Department, Canton Police Department, Peoria County Sheriff’s Department, McDonough County Sheriff’s Department, Illinois Department Of Natural Resources, other area law enforcement, Illinois State Police, Federal Marshalls Office, and Homeland Security all contributed to searching the area.
26-year-old Cody Villalobos and 36-year-old Zachary Hart remain at large.
Anyone with information about their location is encouraged to call 911.
UPDATE 6:55 p.m. — A second Fulton County jail escapee has been captured.
Jesse Davis, 34, was found in the Farmington area around 6:45 p.m. on Blue Spruce Rd. Police located him with help from a tip.
Two more suspects are still outstanding.
Anyone in the county who sees someone fitting the description of the other two is encouraged to call 911.
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — (UPDATE: 4:54 p.m.) — One escapee of the Fulton County Jail has been captured, the Fulton County Emergency Services and Disaster Agency announced.
Eugene Roets, 22, was captured in the Peoria area. The announcement was made on the department’s Facebook page at 4:30 p.m., and the other three suspects are still at large.
Area law enforcement agencies are searching for the remaining three. Residents in the Farmington area are encouraged to be aware of their surroundings.
Anyone in the county who sees someone fitting the description of the other three is encouraged to call 911.
LEWISTOWN, Ill. (WMBD) — (UPDATE: 2:30 p.m.) — Fulton County Sheriff Jeff Standard said there have been reports from the community that they have seen people who may have been the inmates.
He said he cannot confirm if these were actually escapees, but he speculated they are.
He also said escapees may be in a cornfield near Farmington Central CUSD #625.
LEWISTOWN, Ill. (WMBD) — (UPDATE: 12:49 a.m.) — Four inmates from the Fulton County Jail are now on the run after escaping Wednesday evening.
The inmates are:
- 34-year-old Jesse R. Davis; black male, 5’5″, 150 pounds, black hair and brown eyes.
- 26-year-old Cody Villalobos; white male, 6’0″, 250 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes.
- 36-year-old Zachary J. Hart; White male, 6’6″, 170 pounds, brown hair and green eyes.
- 22-year-old Eugene Roets, White male, 5’9″, 180 pounds, brown hair and green eyes.
According to court records, Davis has been charged with possession of a weapon by a felon, unlawful possession of meth, and aggravated unlawful use of weapon charges. In March, records also show that he fled from police in Canton and was also charged with aggravated reckless driving. His bond is set at $125,000.
The sheriff’s office has not commented yet on how the inmates escaped.
In a press release faxed to WMBD, Zachary J. Hart is facing aggravated domestic battery, home invasion, possession of a stolen debit card, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a weapon with no FOID, fleeing and eluding a police officer, obstructing justice, and failure to appear pay order DUI. His bond is set at $285,000.
Eugene Roets is facing charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of stolen property, possession of meth, possession of ammunition, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a weapon with no FOID, criminal damage to State Supported Property, and aggravated battery. Roets was sentenced to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on May 15 and is awaiting transfer to IDOC.
Cody Villabolos is facing charges including possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license revoked, possession of a controlled substance, resisting/obstructing a peace officer, possession of a weapon by a felon, failure to appear on Pay Order – DUI, and possession of Contraband in a penal institution. His bond is set at $36,500.
The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents in Lewistown and surrounding communities to lock up their homes and vehicles.
