Teen arrested in connection with shooting in Davenport

UPDATE: A teen has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting in Davenport on Monday.

Christian Jessee, 17, of Davenport was charged with: intimidation with a dangerous weapon and willful injury – causing serious injury.

Jessee is being detained in the Juvenile Detention Center.

Davenport Police officers initiated a traffic stop around 1:04 a.m. Friday on a suspicious vehicle in the area of 3800 Spring Street. During the preliminary investigation an illegal firearm was confiscated.

Detectives following up on this incident determined that the stop and identification of an occupant was related to the shooting incident Monday in the 2600 block of Central Park Ave.

A man was shot early Monday in Davenport.

Officers responded to the area of 2600 West Central Park Avenue around 12:58 a.m. after a report of a gunshot victim. 

Preliminary information indicated that the victim was involved in a physical altercation with another subject, which escalated into shots being fired. 

The victim was transported by Medic to Genesis Medical Center with serious injuries. 

The victim is a man from Davenport. No other injuries were reported.
