Three charged after home hit by gunfire

UPDATE: A man, a woman were arrested and charged with discharge of a firearm felonies after a home was hit by gunfire early Friday.

The East Moline Police Department received a 911 call that a residence in the 2000 block of 9th Avenue was struck by gunfire around 1:46 a.m.

The residence was occupied, but no one was injured. 

Police received information from a witness that after the gunshots were fired, a white vehicle was seen speeding away from the area and headed south on 19th Street. 

A responding officer located a white vehicle leaving the area and conducted a traffic stop. 

Two people attempted to run, but one was captured by an East Moline Police officer and the other was captured by a Silvis Police officer. 

During the subsequent investigation, the police recovered a handgun and shotgun believed to have been used in the incident. 

Emily Ledesma, 18, of East Moline was arrested and charged with reckless
discharge of a firearm, a Class 4 felony. 

Jaonte Webb, 18, of Moline was arrested and charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, a Class 4 Felony. 

A 15-year-old boy of East Moline was arrested for aggravated discharge of a firearm, a Class 1 felony and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, a Class 4 felony. Ledezma and Webb are being held at the RICO jail on $30,000 bond. 

The juvenile is being held at the Mary Davis Juvenile Detention Center.

The incident is still under investigation by the East Moline Police Department.

EARLIER UPDATE

Shots were fired in East Moline early Friday.

The call came in just before 2 a.m. from the 1200 block of 9th Avenue.

Police located a car that fit the shooter’s description.

A short chase followed.

It ended near the intersection of 30th Avenue and 7 1/2 Street.

That car was put onto a tow truck. 

Local 4 News was told all the suspects were taken into custody.
