After making it into the 80s for the first time this year it seems fitting we have a chance for some strong thunderstorms tonight.

A line of storms is heading across Iowa and should arrive in parts of our area between 8 and 10 p.m.

These storms have produced an occasional wind gust around 60 mph and hail up to 1.5″ in diameter.

That’s why there have been a few severe t’storm warnings across parts of Iowa tonight (West of our area.)

Widespread severe weather does not look likely, but a few of the storms could pack a little bit of a punch as they roll through tonight.  The Storm Prediction Center gives us a “slight chance” of severe t’storms.  That translates to about a 15% chance.

Thursday looks much cooler, with highs in the 50s instead of the lower 80s like today.  This was the first time we hit the 80s since October 9th!
