Two local churches are getting ready for the Quad Cities second annual Night to Shine. It’s a prom for people with special needs, ages 14 and older.
Risen Christ Lutheran Church in Davenport and Our Lady of the River Catholic Church in LeClaire are hosting the proms once again this year.
They’ve been collecting prom dresses for about two months that will be given to each guest.
They say they want to make sure everyone is treated as celebrities for the night.
“We have a red carpet that they walk with paparazzi. We have the, it’s called the step and repeat banner when famous people stand in front of a white wall that has advertising on it, we have that,” says Coordinator Sandy Sievert.
Every participant will also be crowned king or queen. The event is on February 9th, 2016. For more information and registration click here.
There will be two dress giveaways:

– January 13, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Eastern Ave Library. Located 6000 Eastern Ave.
