The Quad Cities is getting another major construction project starting on Friday.
The Illinois Department of Transportation says that weather permitting construction on U.S. Highway 67 between Milan and Rock Island will start this week.
It’ll be an $8.7 million dollar project to build and repair three bridges that carry U.S. 67 over the Rock River between Milan and Rock Island.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction until work is done.
The project is scheduled to be complete by late November.
Illinois has the fifth highest number of structurally deficient bridges in the nation.
