Western Illinois University move-in moved forward due to weather

Western Illinois University has released a statement saying they will allow early move-ins for the Spring 2019 semester due to the anticipated winter weather this weekend.

Students are now permitted to move in after 3 p.m. Friday, January 11.

This is a day earlier than the previous time which was set for 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 12.

According to WIU, certain campus amenities may be unavailable for early movers.

“There will be no dining centers open Friday. Corbin-Olson Dining Center will be open for brunch Saturday, Jan. 12. The Thompson Hall and Corbin-Olson dining centers will be open for dinner Saturday, and regular dining center hours resume Sunday, Jan. 13.

The University Bookstore will be open from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and the Union Service Center will be open from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Burger King will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. Sunday. The Union will resume its regular operating hours Monday, Jan. 14.”
