White supremacist fliers wrapped around newspapers

Some subscribers to the Quad-City Times got an unexpected supplement to their morning newspaper Wednesday — and we’re not talking about the puzzle book that raised the newsstand price to $4.

No, it was a white supremacist flier. It’s the second time in a little more than three months it has happened to the Times.

The newspaper released a statement Wednesday morning addressing the incident.

“The Quad-City Times has received reports of white supremacist flyers found wrapped around some of our papers in this morning’s delivery,” the statement read in part. “While we fully support everyone’s right to express their political opinions, we unequivocally condemn these acts and the ideas they represent. We have no knowledge that they were performed by our carriers.”

In November, some Quad-City Times readers found white supremacist fliers with their Sunday paper.

Local 4 News has reached out to the Quad-City Times for further comment, but so far our calls have not been returned.

If you received a flier, let us know.
