Wine Walk benefits Gilda’s Club QCA

News

The Village of East Davenport Wine Walk will be Saturday, August 19 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Liz Quinn from Wide River Winery joined Local 4’s Brittany Price in studio to share details on the event.

Proceeds benefit Gilda’s Club of the QCA. Gilda’s Club volunteers will be manning four tents on 11th Street: two tents at 11th Street & Mound, one in front of Lagomarcino’s and one at the Fire Station. Start at any tent to receive a wrist band and a map of participating businesses with a per person donation of $20 to Gilda’s Club. Admission price includes a commemorative wine glass.

Gilda’s Club will also be selling wine glasses painted by its members at all entrances again this year. All participating businesses will offer a 1 oz sample of their featured wine. Many of the Village of East Davenport shops will be participating, and over 25 types of wines will be available to sample including a non-alcoholic option, from local wineries and wineries around the world. The event will also feature live music throughout the Village.

According to gildasclubqc.org, the nonprofit provides support, education and hope to all people affected by cancer. The services are free of charge. As a Cancer Support Community affiliate, the group is part of the largest employer of psychosocial oncology mental health professionals in the United States.
