UPDATE: The woman who died after a crash with a stolen vehicle has been identified.
Tammy Loos, 51, of Milan died of blunt trauma to the chest and abdomen.
Three suspects face charges of possession of stolen property, fleeing from police and reckless homicide.
The Moline Police Department is investigating a crash that resulted in the death of a 51-year old Milan woman.
Moline Police were advised around 6:11 p.m. by the East Moline Police Department that a stolen vehicle was entering Moline on 53rd Street and was driving recklessly and at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Cedar County, Iowa on March 24.
Moline Police responded to the area but were unable to get into a position to attempt a traffic stop on the vehicle and lost sight of it. A Moline Police Officer was in the area of 16th Street and John Deere Road and observed the vehicle driving westbound on John Deere Road when the stolen vehicle collided with a northbound Ford Escape.
The occupants of the Ford Escape were transported by ambulance to Unity Point-Rock Island, where the passenger died from her injuries. A man remains hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
The occupants of the stolen van ran from the scene. A 27-year old woman was apprehended at the scene, a 24-year old man was apprehended by an off-duty Rock Island officer two blocks away and a 25-year old man was apprehended after a lengthy search, three blocks from the crash.
Local 4 News was the only station on the scene when officers found him hiding in a shed at 39th Avenue and 15th Street C.
All three suspects face charges of possession of stolen property, fleeing from police and reckless homicide.
Formal charges will be reviewed with the Rock Island County State’s Attorney’s office today.
The Moline Police Department was assisted by the East Moline Police Department, Rock Island Police Department, Rock Island County Sheriff’s Department, Hampton Police Department and the Illinois State Police.

Three people are in custody after an accident led to a police chase in Moline.
According to Moline police, a stolen car ran through a stoplight, causing a serious accident. That happened at 16th Street and John Deere Road.
Two males ran from the car; one was caught quickly.
Multiple officers were on the scene checking for the other suspect in garages, boats, and motorhomes.
The other male was found in a shed in the area of 39th Avenue and 15th Street C.
A female suspect along with two civilians have been transported to the hospital with injuries.
The three suspects face charges of possession of stolen property, fleeing, and warrants.
