Augustana men’s basketball has come out on top of close games throughout the season with the latest win coming Wednesday night against Elmhurst.
The Vikings credit veteran leadership and experience for their success late in games.
Senior guard Chrishawn Orange said, “We all look at each other and we’ve been here before. A lot of other teams can’t say that. We’ve been in those situations and we know what to do.”
With the victory against Elmhurst Augustana improved to 10-0 in CCIW play, and grabbed its 16th-straight win.
“I mean you look around the country, and nobody’s able to win, you know Kentucky, Duke, Kansas, they can’t win 16 in a row,” head coach Grey Giovanine said after the game. “So what we’re doing is absolutely remarkable regardless of the level and I think it speaks volumes about the character and maturity of this team.”
