Hawkeyes remain confident ahead of NCAA tournament

“The good thing about it is I don’t think the confidence of this group, individually or as a whole, has jumped off at all at any point in the season,” said junior forward Tyler Cook.

“…I think the fact that the guys have stayed together, kept believing in each other and in themselves is what makes us such a good team…like I always say the fun part of going through a tough situation is figuring out how to get out of it, so we get another chance to do that and we’ll get ready next week.”

“We’ve had a really good season,” added freshman guard Joe Wieskamp.

“Coach talks about, they were in here and wanted to turn things around, and we definitely did that this season, Getting to 22 wins is pretty tough. We realize that we’re a team that’s going to be playing next week; not a lot of teams have that opportunity. So we’re really proud of that. Obviously this one hurts for now, but we just got to keep working.”

Iowa now gets ready for Selection Sunday to see who they will be paired with for round one of the NCAA tournament.
