Rock Island Alleman baseball got its season off to a good start by sweeping Orion at home in an afternoon doubleheader on Saturday, March 17.

The Pioneers rallied from a one-run deficit in Game 1 with a five-run fifth and held on to win 6-4. They won the second game 10-0 in five innings.

In the nightcap, starting pitcher Jono Berry shutdown the Chargers lineup, allow just one hit in the game. Luke Trondson delivered the big hit — a two-run double that was part of a five-run second inning for the Game 2 victors.
