BLIZZARD WARNING issued for the Quad Cities

1st Blizzard Warning in nearly 5 years for Quad Cities

QUAD CITIES - With conditions going downhill the NWS has just issued a BLIZZARD WARNING for the Quad Cities until 6 a.m. Monday.

Rain is changing over to snow and we could pick up close to a foot of snow through midnight.

Winds will gust to around 45 mph.  This combination will lead to whiteout conditions at times this afternoon and tonight.

Everything except emergency or 100% necessary travel should be avoided during this life-threatening weather situation.

This is the first Blizzard Warning for the Quad Cities in nearly 5 years.
